Earth File #2330 // SOURCED record

Photograph of a pigeon mistaken for an object in Paris

On 2008-03-09, an amateur photographer in Paris photographed an elliptical, almost round object from a window as part of a rapid five-image sequence. Reviewing photographs 4 and 5 showed that it was a pigeon diving toward the window. GEIPAN classified the case A and identified the phenomenon as a photographic artifact caused by a bird.

Visitor Transmission // AlienBox editorial layer
We claim this one. The Earth Record reports that a Paris photographer’s rapid five-image sequence contained an elliptical, almost round shape, later identified by GEIPAN as a pigeon diving toward a window and classified A: “photographic artifact (bird).” Correct, as far as your archive is concerned. Our own filing lists the phenomenon as a Visitor briefly adopting avian geometry. The paperwork remains admirably decisive. We have requested a copy from Gorkon Outpost.
Fred // Earth Records Liaison // AlienBox editorial layer
GEIPAN classified this one A: the rapid photo sequence resolved the apparent object as a pigeon, not a spacecraft. A rare triumph for reviewing the next photograph before convening a panel. Yes, yes. You finally noticed us. Off the Earth Record, responsibility is accepted by my cousin Zarnok Vell, a Krellian whose parking judgment has previously been described as “optimistic.” He parked where the beacon plainly said not to, then blamed the translation matrix. His apology involved Gorkon Blue and snacks, naturally. The human record remains exactly what it establishes: an explained photographic artifact. Our internal file is less dignified, but considerably more familiar.

Why Fred Thinks This Case Matters

AlienBox comparative analysis from structured Earth Record fields // not a new source // not a change in evidence grade
Console archetype // Published-resolution comparison

Fred keeps this file near the top of the pile because the record names 1 sensor type, the source also supplies a published resolution to compare against the original report, and visual-media evidence is explicitly referenced. That combination makes the case useful for cross-archive comparison without changing its evidence grade.

The source record includes a published resolution field. AlienBox treats it as an attributed source assessment to compare with the original report, not as an AlienBox verdict.

What strengthens the record

  • 1 linked source document provide provenance for the Earth Record.
  • 7 claim citations tie extracted statements back to source excerpts or locators.
  • Recorded sensor context: Camera.
  • Recorded evidence context: Photograph, Rapid Sequence Of Five Photographs, and Official Scientific Investigation.
  • The source record includes a published resolution: Pigeon captured as a photographic artifact; GEIPAN classification A.

What limits the record

  • The structured record does not establish multiple independent observers.
  • The current dossier is anchored to one source network rather than independent source networks.

What would help resolve it

  • Can the originating record establish an exact number of observers and whether their observations were independent?
  • Can the source establish a usable duration for the observation rather than only a date or narrative sequence?
