Each rabbit hole uses an explicit structured filter and publishes its own archive snapshot. The counts describe the current AlienBox dataset, not the prevalence of unexplained phenomena in the real world.

Research limits // the part Fred hates because it contains restraint

AlienBox is not a statistically representative survey of all anomalous observations. Coverage depends on which archives are public, collectible, legally usable, sufficiently structured, translated, and cleared through the site's evidence rules. Missing records are not negative evidence. A frequent label can reflect source vocabulary or collection bias. An unresolved label means the cited process did not resolve the record within its scope; it does not establish an extraordinary origin.

For that reason, AlienBox publishes the source network, methodology, claim-level citations and contrary/resolution context alongside the more entertaining Fred layer. The useful product is the comparison without the category error.
