Earth File #2284 // SOURCED record

Saint-Brieuc: four luminous spheres reported on 26 November 2011

A witness reported observing four silent white luminous spheres moving horizontally for five minutes at 9:05 p.m. The GEIPAN case record classified the observation as B and assessed the lights as probably Thai lanterns, citing their grouping, windborne movement, and duration.

Visitor Transmission // AlienBox editorial layer
The four lights over Saint-Brieuc were ours. We were conducting a quiet horizontal transit on 26 November 2011, for approximately five minutes, with the wind providing acceptable fuel savings. Your GEIPAN record classified the case B and assessed the lights as probably Thai lanterns. Reasonable conclusion, given the grouping and southwest drift. The reported whiteness was an observational inconvenience, not an operational failure. Gorkon Outpost still uses the same paperwork template.
Fred // Earth Records Liaison // AlienBox editorial layer
GEIPAN/CNES classifies this as B: probably Thai lanterns—a sensible fit for grouped lights drifting with the wind, despite the record’s useful note that the reported white color is not quite typical. The box is labeled correctly enough; please resist upgrading it to “interstellar delegation” because four lights had the decency to travel together. Off the Earth Record, the Visitors are claiming this one. They are mistaken. My internal records do not identify it as ours, and I have corrected the filing accordingly. This disagreement is AlienBox lore, not Earth evidence. I would normally send the Visitors a memo, but they already have a commemorative stamp made.

Why Fred Thinks This Case Matters

AlienBox comparative analysis from structured Earth Record fields // not a new source // not a change in evidence grade
Console archetype // Published-resolution comparison

Fred keeps this file near the top of the pile because the source also supplies a published resolution to compare against the original report. That combination makes the case useful for cross-archive comparison without changing its evidence grade.

The source record includes a published resolution field. AlienBox treats it as an attributed source assessment to compare with the original report, not as an AlienBox verdict.

What strengthens the record

  • 1 linked source document provide provenance for the Earth Record.
  • 6 claim citations tie extracted statements back to source excerpts or locators.
  • Recorded evidence context: Witness Report and Official Investigation Record.
  • The source record includes a published resolution: Probably Thai lanterns.

What limits the record

  • No sensor type is recorded in the structured Earth Record.
  • The structured record does not establish multiple independent observers.
  • The current dossier is anchored to one source network rather than independent source networks.

What would help resolve it

  • Can the originating record establish an exact number of observers and whether their observations were independent?
  • Did any radar, infrared, optical, telemetry, or other instrument record the event, and is that material preserved?
  • Can the source establish a usable duration for the observation rather than only a date or narrative sequence?

The report was considered consistent with Thai lantern characteristics because the lights were grouped, moved with the wind from the southwest, and lasted a few minutes.
Claim #23310 // ASSESSMENT // SOURCED // 98% extraction confidence
“The report corresponds to the characteristics of Thai lanterns: points of light in a group, moving in the direction of the wind (from the southwest), and lasting for a few minutes.”
