Earth File #2068 // SOURCED record

Reported observation of three colored lights near Saint-Nazaire

The GEIPAN archive describes a reported observation by two people in a moving car of three slowly moving blue, white, and red lights forming a triangle, viewed through the windshield. The case was classified as C because information was insufficient; reflections could not be ruled out and further investigation was impossible.

Visitor Transmission // AlienBox editorial layer
The GEIPAN archive reports that, on 5 February 2009 near Saint-Nazaire, two people in a moving car described three slowly moving blue, white, and red lights forming a triangle. The observation was made through the windshield; the archive notes that pouring rain left reflections unresolved. The case was classified C, with further investigation impossible because of insufficient information. We do not recognize the reported phenomenon either. Our identification office has filed it under “unhelpfully triangular.”
Fred // Earth Records Liaison // AlienBox editorial layer
Three colored lights, a windshield, rain, and one emailed testimony: enough for a record, not enough for a conclusion. GEIPAN classified the case C, with reflections still possible and further investigation impossible. Sensible. Annoying, but sensible. Off the Earth Record, even the Visitors do not recognize this one, and neither do we. Please resist upgrading “unidentified” into “ours”; that is how filing cabinets acquire religions. Family note: Brikk Tor once detoured from a routine observation route for a drive-in movie and forgot that navigation lights are visible from below. He blamed the route planner, while insisting the landing was technically controlled. I am not assigning Saint-Nazaire to Brikk. For once, we have no culprit—only an unresolved box.

Why Fred Thinks This Case Matters

AlienBox comparative analysis from structured Earth Record fields // not a new source // not a change in evidence grade
Console archetype // Published-resolution comparison

Fred keeps this file near the top of the pile because the source also supplies a published resolution to compare against the original report. That combination makes the case useful for cross-archive comparison without changing its evidence grade.

The source record includes a published resolution field. AlienBox treats it as an attributed source assessment to compare with the original report, not as an AlienBox verdict.

What strengthens the record

  • 1 linked source document provide provenance for the Earth Record.
  • 10 claim citations tie extracted statements back to source excerpts or locators.
  • Recorded evidence context: Visual Observation Through A Windshield and Single Testimony Submitted By Email.
  • The source record includes a published resolution: GEIPAN classification C; lack of reliable information, with reflections not ruled out.

What limits the record

  • No sensor type is recorded in the structured Earth Record.
  • The structured record does not establish multiple independent observers.
  • The current dossier is anchored to one source network rather than independent source networks.

What would help resolve it

  • Can the originating record establish an exact number of observers and whether their observations were independent?
  • Did any radar, infrared, optical, telemetry, or other instrument record the event, and is that material preserved?
  • Can the source establish a usable duration for the observation rather than only a date or narrative sequence?
