Earth File #1875 // SOURCED record

Reported luminous phenomenon in Limousin, probably ISS

The GEIPAN record states that on 2010-06-25 at 12:50 a.m., a witness observed from a home terrace a silent, white, spherical, very bright light for one to two minutes. The investigation assessed it as probably the International Space Station; the case is classified B.

Visitor Transmission // AlienBox editorial layer
We were responsible for this one. On 25 June 2010, we operated a silent white light over Limousin, in Corrèze, and allowed one terrace witness to follow it for one to two minutes. The GEIPAN record describes the observation and classifies the case B, while its investigation assesses that the witness probably saw the International Space Station. A reasonable assessment, within the Earth Record. Incorrect, but reasonable. Gorkon Outpost has filed the correction under “routine orbital misdirection.”
Fred // Earth Records Liaison // AlienBox editorial layer
A GEIPAN investigation classifies this as B and assesses the bright, silent object as probably the International Space Station. Sensible filing. The Earth Record establishes a report and an assessment—not a cosmic visitor with a forwarding address. Off the Earth Record: the Visitors are claiming this one. They are mistaken. Our internal records indicate it was not ours, and I have corrected the relevant form twice, which is two more times than this incident deserved. Please resist the familiar human temptation to upgrade “unidentified at first glance” into “extraterrestrial.” Sometimes the label on the box is merely delayed.

Why Fred Thinks This Case Matters

AlienBox comparative analysis from structured Earth Record fields // not a new source // not a change in evidence grade
Console archetype // Published-resolution comparison

Fred keeps this file near the top of the pile because the source also supplies a published resolution to compare against the original report. That combination makes the case useful for cross-archive comparison without changing its evidence grade.

The source record includes a published resolution field. AlienBox treats it as an attributed source assessment to compare with the original report, not as an AlienBox verdict.

What strengthens the record

  • 1 linked source document provide provenance for the Earth Record.
  • 8 claim citations tie extracted statements back to source excerpts or locators.
  • Recorded evidence context: Official Investigation Record, Witness Report, and Classification Assessment.
  • The source record includes a published resolution: Probable observation of the International Space Station (ISS).

What limits the record

  • No sensor type is recorded in the structured Earth Record.
  • The structured record does not establish multiple independent observers.
  • The current dossier is anchored to one source network rather than independent source networks.

What would help resolve it

  • Can the originating record establish an exact number of observers and whether their observations were independent?
  • Did any radar, infrared, optical, telemetry, or other instrument record the event, and is that material preserved?
  • Can the source establish a usable duration for the observation rather than only a date or narrative sequence?
